ProfileTrial Associate The candidate will work in a team of dedicated senior associates and partners in growing Securities & Financial Services Litigation Practice Group serving as national litigation counsel to major banks, finance companies, retailers and high tech industry participants. Will assist in high-dollar matters, often involving cutting edge and novel legal issues, handling all phases of investigations and litigation involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, state agency matters, or class action suits across the country, including defending companies or individuals in CID and federal enforcement investigations, analyzing and recommending responses to pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery demands, drafting dispositive and procedural motions, witness preparation, case analysis and preparing cases for arbitration and trial. Will help advise corporate clients on complex questions of consumer financial law at the state and federal law and develop appropriate strategies to reduce regulatory risk. Examples of salient topical experience include: federal laws such as CFPA/UDAAP, TILA, RESPA, EFTA, FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and state law pertaining to consumer finance.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Strong academic performance. California Bar admission. CFPB experience. 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience. Financial services litigation experience. Excellent research and writing skills.
