ProfileIn-House Litigation Counsel Duties: Litigate an array of commercial, regulatory and employment matters independently and with minimal supervision. Perform routine litigation tasks such as legal research; writing briefs/motions; interviewing witnesses; conducting investigations; drafting/responding to discovery; taking/defending depositions, presenting oral argument, mediating, negotiating, conducting arbitrations and trials as first or second chair; and communicating with client, opposing parties, courts and arbitrators. Counsel and advise operating companies on a broad range of legal issues, including U.S. food and beverage regulatory matters, commercial disputes, and labor and employment cases, among others.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited, top-tier law school. Member in good standing of California State Bar. Strong academic credentials, excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills required. 8+ years commercial litigation experience to assist it in the handling of day-to-day litigation and legal counseling for all of The Company’s privately-held farming, food, beverage and other companies. Will require both personal participation and leadership in ongoing litigation and require, among other things, trying cases, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions, and presenting oral argument, as required by a litigator in any law firm. Ability to provide top-quality, proactive, accurate, timely and effective legal representation in a fast moving environment with minimal supervision.
