Deputy General Counsel - Litigation, Compliance and Risk Management The candidate will be responsible for assisting to ensure the Company is managing legal and legally-related business risks through its legal affairs, documentation, contracts, employer responsibilities, policies and processes, compliance and in accordance with applicable law in multiple jurisdictions. Provide timely, accurate and effective legal support and advice to the General Counsel and internal clients, all of which as assigned. Provide timely, ongoing, on-demand legal counsel and strategic guidance to the General Counsel on matters related to litigation, compliance and risk. Participate in creating and updating policies, practices and procedures and assist in enforcement of policies. Train company personnel as needed on pertinent policies. Ensure compliance program is maintained and relevant. Conduct investigations as needed. Manage all litigation and pre-litigation matters, including discovery responses. Proactively identify legal and regulatory trends and provide related advice. Manage external counsel in all legal disciplines and matters. Oversee Risk Management program, including broker relationship and insurance portfolio. A JD from a competitive law school with strong academic credentials and currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas and 10+ years of experience practicing as an attorney required. Combination of big law firm and in-house experience (public company experience preferred) required. Case management experience, including development of litigation strategies, selection and management of expert consultants, discovery strategy, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations and trials required. Significant compliance and corporate governance experience and risk Management experience preferred. Strong: drafting, oral and written communications skills; customer focus and interpersonal skills required.
