Assistant Counsel, Operations Duties: Provide broad legal counsel to business management on strategy, transactional issues and risk. Draft, structure and negotiate multi-million dollar agreements with domestic and international suppliers of products and services. Pro-actively establish and implement strategies to successfully resolve disputes and litigation involving suppliers. Provide advice and counsel on regulatory and compliance requirements as they relate to supply chain. Provide leadership to the development and implementation of relevant templates, processes, and policies and procedures impacting supply chain. Counsel to joint ventures and subsidiaries. Counsel domestic and international business units on various operational legal matters, including corporate and commercial transactional issues, antitrust, finance, real estate, compliance and corporate governance matters. Counsel on the expansion, divesting or relocation of JVs and subsidiaries. Broad business operational support. Provide counsel to other key issues impacting Pratt’s businesses related to litigation, EHS (environment, health and safety), real estate, engineering, information technology, and corporate communications as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD degree from an accredited institution and admission to either the Connecticut Bar or another state Bar with eligibility for Connecticut Authorized In-House Counsel status. 7+ years of experience in the following areas, including 5+ years of litigation experience: Counsel to joint ventures and subsidiaries. Experience with US Government contracting matters and knowledge of FAR/DFARS. Preferred: Arbitration within a commercial environment. In-house corporate counsel experience. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Experience resolving commercial business disputes. Must be a strong leader and individual contributor, with excellent judgment and professional maturity. Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks. Must have a business-oriented, pragmatic approach to challenges that arise in a fast-paced environment.
