ProfileLegal Counsel The candidate will provide legal advice relating to all components of corporate transactions. Provide legal advice relating to all components of corporate operations, including updates about new laws and changes in laws affecting our business and industry. Draft and review contracts and documents pertaining to financing matters. Provide legal advice and draft documents related to the development of new company initiatives. Manage outside counsel with respect to corporate, intellectual property, and information technology matters. Assist with other corporate legal matters as needed. Provide legal advice on compliance matters, including new laws and changes in laws affecting our business and industry. Review and respond to regulatory and Better Business Bureau complaints and consumer correspondence and recommend internal changes to address issues raised in same, as appropriate. Review all compliance policies. Review all letters, form documents (e.g., pleadings and affidavits), etc., provided by network attorneys, collection agencies, and vendors in the on boarding process and annual audits. Develop and present training to employees on legal issues and corporate structure. Assist Chief Compliance Officer and staff in the course of their audits, training, and other functions. Provide legal oversight of Account Resolutions department. Respond to subpoenas and other legal processes in non-collection litigation matters. Manage and direct corporate litigation; communicate with owners and management team about material litigation, as appropriate. Review and edit legal pleadings and correspondence. Advise Ohio collection counsel on questions of Ohio and federal laws relating to his practice. Manage network in litigation matters and appeals. Provide legal advice and support to Legal Operations Liaison group and network attorneys. Serve as General Counsel Department point of contact for affiliated companies. Drafting and reviewing contracts for affiliates. Provide general legal and compliance advice for all three entities. Must have JD degree from an accredited law school. Should have 5-10 years’ experience in above areas.
