Staff Counsel Duties: Conducting compliance investigations, including witness interviews, reviewing and analyzing documents, drafting investigative reports, and presenting investigative findings. Working with Internal Audit, Human Resources, Security, Legal Department teams, and other internal partners within Verizon on a variety of investigative and compliance matters, including providing legal advice and guidance. Developing and delivering compliance training. Drafting compliance communications. Assisting business teams in conducting risk assessments and designing and implementing risk mitigation initiatives. Reviewing and implementing compliance controls and corporate policies.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD degree and 6+ years of work experience. 6+ years of relevant work experience. Member in good standing of Bar in at least one state and eligible for New Jersey limited In-House Counsel Licensure. 5+ years in government, law firm, or corporate setting involving compliance, investigations, or enforcement work. Even better if you have: Excellent academic performance. Outstanding attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and perform effectively under tight deadlines. Self-starter willing to take initiative to develop, lead and implement projects. Collegial team player with excellent oral and written communication skills able to work with a wide range of business clients including the Company’s leaders.
