Litigation Counsel The candidate will support the Company on litigation, and regulatory matters relating to the consumer electronics business. Coordinate all activities, internally and externally, including advocacy and strategy for litigated and investigative matters, internal communications and remediation efforts, discovery initiatives and related disclosures. Responsible for managing litigation and regulatory proceedings (e.g. product liability, false advertising/ IP, consumer class actions, commercial litigation, etc.), including pre-litigation dispute resolution, management of active litigation, responsibility for discovery and other litigation requests and procedures, review of pleadings and other court documents, and advice to the Senior Counsel and management on strategy and resolution of cases. Provide guidance regarding regulatory and risk management issues. Oversee the receipt of subpoenas and other information requests and inquiries from third parties, as well as provide risk management and other general advice to legal department, business partners and clients. Drive strategy and execution and management of outside counsel on litigation and government investigation matters. Work cross-functionally with teams to mitigate litigation risk and to ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory obligations. Support internal investigations with risk of litigation related exposure. Keep abreast of legal and claims activities. Strong academic credentials and law degree from a top law school required. 5+ years of relevant legal experience in litigation required. Substantive knowledge and experience in litigation, including experience product liability matters required. Familiarity with regulations relating to consumer products or consumer electronics required. Experience with e-discovery issues, including document retention policies and procedures as well as collection, review, and production of documents required. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex legal challenges required. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate efficiently and to manage people effectively required. Outstanding writing and advocacy skills required.
