Project Assistant (Legal) The candidate will join the paralegal team in the Litigation Department of firm’s Washington, DC office. Will be an integral member of the paralegal team in support of the firm’s fast-paced and active Litigation Department. Primary responsibilities consist of supporting the paralegal team in all aspects of case management, including the review and analysis of cases and files, verifying project accuracy, legal research and writing, and coordinating court/agency filings at the state and federal levels.
Qualification and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is a paralegal certificate or equivalent from an ABA accredited institution is highly preferred. Previous experience as a Litigation Project Assistant or Paralegal in a large law firm or professional services environment is also preferred. Should have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; effective analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge of basic legal research, and local/federal civil procedures; strong organizational and effective time management abilities; demonstrated proficiency and savvy with technology, including Microsoft Office and other litigation support software; and flexibility to work overtime, travel, or temporarily relocate, as needed.
