Intellectual Property - Litigation General
Case Assistant Duties: Provide support to attorneys and paralegals in all phases of U.S. patent prosecution. Managing dockets. Drafting routine correspondence and prosecution documents. Preparing status reports. Preparing Information Disclosure Statements. Maintaining master reference libraries. Tracking Patent Term Adjustments. Securing patent copies, references and ordering file histories. Reviewing and updating foreign client and associate files. Researching technical references, patent and legal issues. Assisting attorneys, paralegals and patent specialists with patent related work as needed. Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred. Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, editing and proofreading abilities are key. Sense of urgency, strong organizational skills and effective time management. Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively. Some Patent Prosecution experience preferred. Must be proficient in Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will communicate with attorneys and all levels of administrative staff.
