Hearing Assistant Duties: Support advocates in preparation for hearings and post hearings. Provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests from clients, advocates and medical providers via telephone, email, fax and face-to-face. Keep record of client interactions and record details of actions taken. Schedule phone preps and reschedule no-show preps. Correspond with attorneys/advocates via telephone, email, and face-to-face. Conduct computerized medical, scientific, and technical literature research. Analyze materials and prepare synopsis. Obtain, review, organize, and analyze medical records. Build and maintain detailed client and medical files.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Some College. Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma. Legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal experience or other legal experience. Customer service experience. Excellent telephone, communication, and active listening skills. 45 WPM typing speed. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Positive outlook and enthusiasm. Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Detail oriented. Reliability and dependability. Problem analysis and problem-solving. The ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times. Ability to work well with others as a team. Social Security Disability experience strongly preferred. Spanish speaking preferred.
