Paralegal - Trust and Estates Litigation Practice The candidate must have: Bachelor’s Degree or ABA Paralegal certification preferred. 3 years of paralegal experience in probate administration, trust administration, trust and estate litigation preferred. Experience in interviewing witnesses and coordinating trial witnesses and exhibits in both minor and major trials commensurate with 3+ years in the field of law. Basic knowledge of legal research techniques and use of Internet with traditional and online research skills. Hands-on experience and knowledge of estate planning, probate and non-probate proceedings, trust administration, irrevocable life insurance trusts, guardianships, estate and gift taxes required. Must be able to effectively oversee trust administration and asset distribution. Hands-on experience and knowledge of Federal and State Court practices, specifically Oregon and California and specifically probate court practice. Experience in multiple areas of estate planning and probate (federal and state tax, fiduciary and personal tax, gift tax, etc.) is desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Access and Project is a plus. Experience with Summation required. Ability to work independently under the direction of attorneys in the management of both small and large litigation cases. Knowledge/Familiarity of IRS procedures and regulations. Organized and detail orientated. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong traditional and online research skills.
