Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Drafts, reviews, proofreads, and routes routine correspondence, reports, and legal documents. Maintain confidentiality. Organizes client conferences and attorney meetings. Communicates and schedules appointments with clients. Schedules couriers, court reporters, and other special functions. Prepares expense reports. Makes travel arrangements. Maintains attorney calendars and proactively anticipates the attorneys’ needs. Files and secures client documents. Enters time into billing system.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: 4 years' relevant experience in a professional legal setting is required. Working knowledge of preparing and filing pleadings, briefs, notices, and subpoenas. Highly organized. Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines. Keen attention to detail. Able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Understand the courts’ expectations for filings and procedures. Positive and professional attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with others in a team. Ability to follow firm procedures and adhere to the firm’s personnel policies.

The firm needs to work on implementing better resources that are new in technology. Management should work on how to provide a better line of communication in the office.

Pros : It's an environment in which good pay and various amounts of workload are offered. The firm has a high degree of respect amongst its clients.
Cons : There is a lack of a line of communication. The resources at the firm are very old. Sometimes attorneys take on too much of the workload and do not spend an adequate amount of time with their clients.
