Legal Assistant Duties: Provides support to various attorneys and other enterprise projects around the country. Assists with closing transactions and tracking primary Unit’s activities. Prepares first drafts of basic agreements and negotiates routine agreements with attorney supervision. Prepares periodic reports for Unit as needed and administers support for Unit’s site and contract repository. Occasional research of legal codes and statutes. Excellent organizational and administrative skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel required. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works independently and under the general supervision of attorneys. Reports to an on-site attorney and an on-site manager of paralegals.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: College Degree preferred. 3-5+ years of corporate transaction and real estate experience. Ability to handle corporate real estate matters including leases, amendments, estoppels, snda and landlord lien waivers , demonstrated by reviewing and analyzing Unit’s provision playbook for contract drafting and negotiation. Ability to handle intake of new matters and prepare preliminary drafts for attorney review. Demonstrated strong attention to organization, details and proofreading documents. Ability to handle assignments from diverse workstreams with professional courtesy and a customer centric disposition. Ability to execute legal research under direction of attorney – locating and providing copy of statute or case. Ability to maintain and manage Unit’s contract repository. Ability to manage time well and deliver consistent work product with precision. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, eDocs, SharePoint, Outlook, Workshare Compare, Westlaw, Lexis. Strong record of success in collaborating with diverse personalities and operating in a team environment. Working knowledge of Lexis/Nexis.
