Immigration Paralegal Assistant The candidate will prepare and file petitions: nonimmigrant visa applications and labor certification/permanent residence (green card) applications, under direct attorney supervision. Will compile and analyze case facts, drafts correspondence, maintains and organizes client documentation, while maintaining direct contact with multiple attorneys. Prepares drafts of various legal documents, including government forms, specialized support letters, and affidavits to be filed with various federal agencies. Oversees status of cases using VisaTrax, monitors and prioritizes workload, production and billing. Organizes case files and set calendar deadlines accordingly, while providing updates to clients and attorneys. Assist Attorney in preparation for client meetings and conference calls. Manages multiple projects at any given time, effectively and efficiently, to meet changing deadlines and priorities. Prepares work product with high attention to detail and with few or no errors. Provides high-touch client service by regularly communicating and collaborating with clients and attorneys.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. Must have 2-3 years of experience working with non-immigrant visas such as H, L, O and TN visas. Fluency in a foreign language a plus. Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; VisaTrax/Zoom and Document Management System. Must be able to operate multi-line phone, calculator, blackberry, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must be willing to work overtime, as needed.
