This large boutique firm has offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Their practice is broad-ranging, from all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright law, to advice on entertainment law, security interests in intellectual property, and related aspects of commercial law and other legal areas dealing with technology. We’ve been told that they have a test that everyone must take before interviewing, and it’s quite difficult. The firm’s clients range from individual inventors and start-up companies to some of the world's largest multinational corporations. While there are some negative comments about the hours required, the hours seem commensurate with the salary, firm quality and work required. Trademark Paralegal Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience experience with U.S. and some foreign trademark filings preferred, renewals with knowledge of local laws and requirements. He or she must be able to communicate with clients and local counsels regarding issues that may arise during the prosecution, such as evidence of use requirements, reclassifications, etc. Should be able to conduct trademark status reports using USPTO and other electronic databases and maintain trademark files. Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading, telephone communication, computer and organizational skills are a must. Should be able to produce correspondence, reports, memoranda from dictation, and draft handwritten or oral instructions. Must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines. Experience using Dictaphone and foreign language skills are a plus.
