ProfileJunior Paralegal Duties: Will support a litigation team. Will draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, notices and subpoenas. Conduct various document searches and factual research using Westlaw. Schedule and prepare for depositions as needed. Set up, index and maintain files that are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Gather and compile medical records. Prepare witness and matter materials for attorney review. Assist with preparations for hearings, mediations and trials. Organize and prepare exhibits, files and all other supporting documents for trial. Work in Relativity, Concordance or other databases. Basic jury research. Summarize depositions and discovery responses.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications : Junior paralegal should have 4 year degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program with 1 year of experience.
Senior Project Assistant should have 5+ years of related legal experience (if experience is not met for Junior Paralegal, paralegal education/certification may be substituted, all or in part, for experience required for this position).
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Superior technology skills – proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Ability to prioritize, organize and manage work load and to take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done. A high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgment.
