Paralegal Duties: Will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including event-related agreements, vendor agreements, various marketing and advertising agreements, sponsorship agreements, consulting agreements, speaker agreements, various licenses, and NDAs. Project management of events and other projects as needed, including coordinating with internal stakeholders and third parties. Fielding questions from the business on a wide range of issues, including event-related inquiries, regulatory compliance matters and company policies and procedures. Drafting sweepstakes and contest rules. Reviewing marketing and promotional materials. Reviewing and drafting appearance, liability, filming, location and other releases. Performing and analyzing trademark clearance searches. Providing assistance with restricted products, product recalls and other regulatory matters. Escalating matters to attorneys and looping in appropriate stakeholders as needed. Helping out with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification Requirements: The candidate should have 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, including 2-3 years of in-house experience. Must have broad understanding of contract provisions (both legal and business terms) and significant experience drafting and negotiating those terms. Must have proven project management skills. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines. Should be highly skilled in basic and advanced functions of Microsoft Word and proficient in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate. Familiarity with trademark searches and copyright law. Regulatory and compliance experience. Sweepstakes and contests experience. Strong ability to understand general business operations.
