Part-time Legal Assistant Duties: Provide administrative support to firm’s Property and Casualty Legal and Compliance Department and reports directly to the VP and Chief Legal Officer. Will provide a broad range of professional, technical and administrative support services to the Legal and Compliance Department. Will prepare both routine and specialized legal documents and correspondence and oversee all day to day legal office operations and support activities. Assist in drafting and preparation of various legal documents, such as routine notices to Insurance Departments, Holding Company Act Filings and other letter preparation. Compiles, reviews and organizes documents for meetings, Legal work, and filings. Under direction of counsel, conveys routine information to client management regarding legal or contractual issues. Performs legal and factual research as assigned by attorneys. Assists in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and supports legal and compliance team in their use of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Assists in the processing of contract reviews, working with other departments as needed. Maintains inventory of office supplies. Establishes and maintains litigation and other files, correspondence, records, certificates and other documents. Provides administrative support such as scheduling meetings, setting up video conference calls, assisting with travel arrangements, and performing other executive administrative functions as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Paralegal certification/training or some college is a plus. 7+ years of relevant experience. Legal assistant experience preferred. Strong experience and expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Requires the ability to work independently while managing changing priorities and projects. Experience writing effective and diplomatic correspondence. Must have excellent attention to detail, organization and planning, confidentiality and problem solving abilities.
Schedule: 20 hours per week
