Compliance and Corporate Paralegal The candidate will to support compliance and corporate functions at its corporate headquarters. Assist with the development and implementation of the company’s ethics and compliance programs along with corporate filings and other law department responsibilities, as needed. Touch numerous areas of the law including employment, litigation, contracts, etc. Conduct legal research and provide legal summaries; provide support to the Legal Manager on a project basis. Compose/run periodic and ad hoc compliance reports, prepare compliance reports for presentation, maintain and update various compliance databases, and update compliance training records. Provide paralegal support on data privacy compliance and overall paralegal support to the broader compliance team. Assist with: SEC filings, including regular disclosure reports and Section 16 filings; subsidiary recordkeeping and maintenance, including foreign entity management; third party due diligence compliance; Internal and external investigations. Maintain CCO’s Outlook calendar, coordinate travel arrangements (including visa applications) and prepare expense reports for law department personnel. Identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develops/recommends/implements solutions. Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources. Produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations. Develop insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results. Provide timely and professional support to all internal/external customers and vendors. Prioritize regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame. Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized university in legal studies or related field and 3+ years of paralegal experience and a working knowledge of Westlaw or LexisNexis required. Bachelor’s degree w/ 5+ years of experience in a legal department of large corporation preferably Bi-lingual in French or Spanish preferred. Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience required. Notary Public, State of Connecticut required. Strong Fluency user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Demonstrated ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications required.
