Senior Paralegal - Employment The candidate will perform a variety of complex paralegal assistance and support activities with respect to labor and employment, litigation, contract review and general corporate matters. Will assist outside and in-house counsel with employment litigation matters. With guidance from in-house counsel, manage agency claims and demands (e.g.,EOC, Department of Labor)including overseeing HR' investigation, preparing position statements, and negotiating settlements. Assist HR and other departments in responding to subpoenas and document requests. Report and track pending legal cases in matter management system. Draft and negotiate contracts (independent contractor, NDAs, software license, hosting, etc.) for various client groups. Partner with Counsel and HR Department to investigate internal complaints, employment claims and threats of litigation, including gathering facts, interviewing witnesses, collecting documents, assessing risks, recommending follow up actions and resolution. With guidance from counsel prepare written responses to agency inquiries, investigations, and requests for information, including drafting and revising position statements, responses to requests for production of documents, responses to claim letters and negotiating settlements and otherwise support outside and in-house counsel with employment and other litigation matters. Provide legal support to a variety of departments, such as Operations, Engineering, Communications, IT, Franchise, Government Relations, and R&D, to including legal research, reviewing regulations, preparing communications, drafting of policies, acknowledgements, and other Company materials. Assist with proactive monitoring and advising of federal, state and local laws for compliance purposes. Draft and negotiate contracts (independent contractor, NDAs, software license, hosting, subscription, etc.) for departments such as IT, HR, Accounting, Government Relations, and QA. Bachelor's degree and Paralegal certificate are required. Must have 5+ years of experience as paralegal in corporate legal department. Experience with Employment law and Litigation is needed.
