Closing Specialist - Loan Documentation and Funding Control The candidate will be responsible for supporting the commercial loan activities of banking center managers and business bankers. Will develop and maintain working knowledge of commercial lending standards, banking laws and regulations, and bank credit policies and procedures as they relate to business banking. Follow and comply with all department procedures and guidelines. Accurately enter information and upload documents in workflow system, Finance Center, or other computer software utilized by the department. Work with Commercial Lenders, Underwriters, Due Diligence Analysts, Documentation and Funding Specialists, and the Department Manager, to ensure that all required information has been obtained and to coordinate efforts to move the loan through the loan closing process. Perform preclosing activities: prepare commitment letters, attorney engagement letters, order closing documents; review draft closing documents, ensuring all terms and conditions are incorporated; request and receive revisions as needed; approve final documents for loan closing; verify proper signers, preclosing conditions met, collateral information is correct, insurance is obtained; prepare PMSI letter to priority creditors, when applicable; prepare closing instructions and needs list; identify and report documentation deficiencies; communicate findings to appropriate bank staff.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have high school diploma or GED. Legal Studies/Paralegal Studies is a plus. Must have 5-7 years of experience with commercial loan documentation and/or closing experience. Prior experience with Finance Center software system is helpful. Experience reading, interpreting and crafting legal documents and contractual language is needed. Understanding of lien perfection requirements is essential. Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel is a must.
