Seeking a Legal Assistant to type general correspondence, memoranda and complex legal documents according to the requirements set by each practice group. Transcribes dictation tapes. Proofreads documents and checks for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammar. Prepares check requests for processing with appropriate backup and timely submission to accounting for payment. Types and coordinates expense reports. Enters and edits attorney’s time into the timekeeping system within deadlines as required. Maintains attorney(s’) appointment calendar. Coordinates all client related travel. Maintains files in an efficient and effective manner. Prepares and updates attorney case lists. Receives, opens, prioritizes and distributes incoming mail. Prepares materials for distribution via U.S. mail, fax, courier, messenger. Maintains confidentiality of client information in accordance with the firm policies. Interacts professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, all other staff and other representatives outside of the firm. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
