ProfileRisk Managment Paralegal The candidate will provides support to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary requiring high levels of trust, accuracy, organization and confidentiality. Is responsible with minimum supervision for preparing drafts of insurance documents including applications, manages insurance accounts, drafts legal documents, memoranda, and other documents. Is responsible for assisting legal department in development and administration of company’s risk assessment and management function. Assists attorneys in a variety of legal issues. Responsibilities and duties: Secure and maintain the Company’s insurance program for all lines of coverage. Arrange for pre and post-renewal meetings with insurance brokers. Prepares insurance renewal applications as well as documentation needed for the specific line of coverage. Drafts legal documents from general direction provided by Senior Vice President, General Counsel. Allocate insurance premiums and assist in drafting and decision making associated with annual insurance budget. Secure surety bonds for the Company working with the surety bond brokers. Work with insurance brokers in providing insurance certificates for the Company. Prepare check requests for all insurance-related invoices. Review contracts and agreements between the Company and 3rd party vendors specifically addressing the insurance language subsidiary list. Support in the preparation and organization of documents related to water system acquisitions, including due diligence documents, closing documents and certificates. Researches administrative issues related to insurance, facilities, etc. Understand and assist in implementing company’s risk assessment and risk management functions. The role requires cross-functional collaboration. Position requires excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, accurate and strong attention to detail, high level of organization, strong verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Must be able to make independent decisions involving established practices and procedures. Assist attorneys in all stages of corporate transactions and with the preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulations. Able to maintain confidential and sensitive information and materials with the utmost discretion. Absolute confidentiality is essential. Expected to consistently search for ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative aspects of the legal function. Should assist SVP, General Counsel and Secretary with annual budgeting.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have College degree.
