ProfileAdministrative/Legal Assistant Duties: Responsible for assisting the paralegal/s and/or attorneys with a high volume caseload. Will work with attorneys and senior management on special projects, reporting, travel management. General correspondence and other general duties as assigned. Opening and closing files. Managing travel arrangements. Draft some letters and pleadings. Heavy data entry/computer work. Assist with preparing files for hearings. Calendaring. General clerical duties: filing, copying, faxing, scanning, etc.. Assist with garnishment packages. Assist with judgment debtor exam requests. Assist with default judgment packages. Work with excel spreadsheets to track judgment balances. Other duties as assigned by paralegal/s and/or attorneys.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: 4 year degree preferred. 1 year of working in a law office. 3 years of Administrative Assistant experience. Experience working with paralegals and attorneys. Knowledge of and experience with local court rules. Experience calendaring and reviewing and finalizing pleadings. File processing experience. Experience working in a high volume and fast paced environment. Any industry experience (litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosures, collections, evictions, mortgage banking, etc.). Strong communication skills- verbal and written. Strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. High proficiency with technology and ability to learn new programs quickly- Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. and ECF experience desired. Excellent customer service skills.
