Commercial Paralegal The candidate's core job responsibilities: Provides legal services and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities or clients. Will: Provides paralegal support to one Commercial Attorney and one Patent Attorney in company's Molecular; Performs substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts, contract terminology, and identifies basic legal issues related to assigned matter, for example drafting and responding to routine contract matters. Resolves routine legal matters in area of responsibility with direct supervision from more experienced paralegals, paralegal supervisor and/or attorneys. Assists more experienced paralegals and/or attorneys in resolving legal issues on projects involving multiple disciplines within the Legal Division and/or multiple functional areas or divisions within company. Represents Legal Division internally to clients, serving as direct point of contact for AMD legal group. Interface with internal clients in preparing commercial agreements such as relating to contracts & pricing, professional service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and material transfer agreements. Support attorneys on more complex legal agreements, assembling exhibits and schedules, coordinating input from other stakeholders, and conducting document/version comparison. Maintains an Agreement log, tracking status and actions. Help maintain all agreements in document management system for permanent record. Maintain templates in document management system and help prepare updates to templates. Provides assistance for project work, such as preparation of playbook for client use. Serves on committees as needed in the legal division. Supervisory/ Management Responsibility: May direct assigned support staff in their responsibilities. May participate in training of other paralegals. Typically reports to Paralegal Supervisor or an attorney. Position Accountability & Scope: Advises legal department managers of project developments in a timely manner. Executes core job responsibilities in a timely manner. Assigned matters typically have a significant impact on business activities and operations. Interacts across all levels of management. No direct department budget responsibility.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant legal education (Paralegal certificate). Should have 2 - 4 years of relevant legal experience.
