Our office is looking for a full time legal assistant with at least one year of legal experience working in a law firm (preferably employment law). The legal assistant will be supporting two attorneys. Our office is located in Beverly Hills, just a block away from Rodeo Drive. This position provides a good opportunity for candidates with one or two years civil litigation experience to gain additional hands-on legal experience in this busy practice.
Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who demonstrate patience and people skills. The legal assistant will be expected to help screen/evaluate incoming calls from potential clients concerning employment disputes. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and must be technologically savvy. The candidate will be expected to be detail oriented and have excellent writing skills. We are in need of a highly-motivated self-starter who learns quickly. One year minimum law firm experience.
Job Description: In addition to client intake, the legal assistant’s duties will include organizing files (electronic and physical), managing civil litigation calendaring, mailing, photocopying, scanning and drafting basic correspondence. Well qualified candidates who show exceptional abilities will assist in drafting legal documents such as complaints and respond to discovery under close attorney supervision.
Environment: While very busy, we are also a friendly, supportive office. This is a great opportunity to work with attorneys and law clerks who enjoy practicing law in a collegial environment. We are looking for someone who is communicative and genial to join our team for the long term.
Interested applicants should email a cover letter and resume to email@example.com. Please put in the subject “Legal Assistant Application.” No phone calls please. Compensation DOE.
