Sarasota office of our client seeks labor and employment attorney with 6+ years of experience in the areas of counseling employers and litigating employment law issues in courts and before administrative agencies. The candidate will provide telephonic and in-person advice and counsel conferences with clients. Will serve in internal workplace investigations. Preparation and drafting of: deposition outlines, discovery requests and responses, discovery, pretrial, and injunction motions, EEOC position statements, mediation statements, post hearing arbitration briefs, appellate briefs; employee policies/handbooks; and employment, restrictive covenant, severance, and settlement agreements. Depositions and witness interviews. Oral arguments (state and federal courts). Mediation proceedings (administrative and judicial). Traditional labor law and Florida employment law experience is preferred. Federal employment law experience is required. Should preferably have experience with traditional labor issues, federal and Florida courts, and appellate practice. Must have Florida Bar license or ability to sit for July 2017 Bar exam. Must have experience in supervisor/employee in-house training (how to conduct performance evaluations; hiring best practices; how to document, discipline and discharge employees; how to conduct workplace investigations; civility and anti-harassment; union avoidance).
