ProfileIn-house Counsel - Intellectual Property The candidate will support the VP of Strategy. Will represent company in all matters pertaining to intellectual property including trademarks, trademark infringements, patent filings, as well as litigation cases dealing with intellectual property infringement. Responsible for all of the company's intellectual property matters. Have frequent contact with the VP of Strategy, Product Development as well as the external IP advisors. Work closely with the Product Development team in developing and implementing the IP strategies as the company develops new products, services and technologies. Prepare, file and handle full cycle dealings with trademarks, patents and any infringements. Oversee the legal secretary that secures statement of Use examples from internal resources and ensure correct class of goods filings, and complete specification of products in classes of goods / pick lists. Prepare and file patents. Lead on all trademarks and design patents. Configure and carry out company's IP strategy and competitive positioning. Work closely with the VP of Strategy, product development team and outside counsel. Protect patentable products and technologies. Deal with Global IP - preparation, filing, prosecution, maintenance and or protection of company's patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Evaluate the patent and trademark portfolios of competitors. Handle IP clearances and other opinions. Assist the outside counsel in all IP related disputes and litigation activities. Should have a Bachelor's degree in legal field with an active attorney license, and be a member of the Bar and admitted to practice in the USPTO. Must have 3-5 years of experience handling all facets of intellectual property. In house counsel experience strongly preferred.
