Litigation Counsel The candidate will be responsible for managing litigation (e.g., product liability, IP, consumer class actions, commercial litigation, etc.), including pre-litigation dispute resolution, discovery and other litigation requests and procedures, preparing witnesses, reviewing pleadings and other court documents, and providing advice and recommendations to the Vice President, Litigation, other litigation team members, and management on strategy and resolution of cases. Drive strategy, execution and management of outside counsel on litigation and government investigation matters. Work cross-functionally with teams to mitigate litigation risk and to ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory obligations. Support internal investigations with risk of litigation related exposure and will keep abreast of other legal and claims activities. A Juris Doctorate Degree from a top law school and admission to at least one state bar in good standing and 4+ years of relevant legal experience in litigation, with 2+ years of law firm experience required. Prior in-house experience a plus. Knowledge: and experience with the following substantive areas of law preferred: product liability, patent and IP, class actions; and experience with the following substantive areas of law a plus: government enforcement, antitrust, and insurance coverage required. Substantial: pre-trial experience, including coordinating and responding to discovery requests, and managing e-discovery in complex matters; experience drafting, editing and supervising pleadings at all stages of litigation; experience preparing witnesses for interviews, depositions and trials required. Experience managing or actively participating on trial teams preferred. Appellate experience preferred. Familiarity with high tech, telecommunications or consumer electronics business preferred. Outstanding research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills; must be able to read, interpret, present and explain legal defense strategies and documents to executives and staff required.
