Intellectual Property Attorney The candidate will be the first internal intellectual property attorney to be employed by the Company, and will be responsible to provide a wide range of intellectual property related legal services to the Company as detailed below. Draft and prosecute patent applications. Work with the Company’s engineers in the design and development of new features and products that do not infringe any intellectual property of any third party. Provide patent clearance investigations and opinions regarding the Company’s new products and developments. Lead the intellectual property due diligence investigation of prospective acquisition candidates. Lead the determination of whether any third parties may be infringing any of the Company’s intellectual property. Assist in the management of any claims and litigation matters involving intellectual property. Counsel the Company concerning trademark issues and obtain and maintain trademark registrations. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Company employees at all levels, including management and engineering, and maintain a good working relationship with the Company’s outside intellectual property counsel. Complete other matters and tasks as assigned from time to time by the Company’s General Counsel. Should have J.D. degree. Must have active membership in at least one state Bar. Should have active registration to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office. Must have 3 years of experience in intellectual property law with a law firm and / or the legal department of a corporation, including significant experience in patent drafting, patent prosecution and patent clearance investigations.
