Senior Claims Specialist The candidate will provides service strategy and integrated service management, claim consulting and advocacy services to North East Construction clients. Claims Consultants will be responsible for the quality and consistency of products and services for a book of high profile clients. Responsibilities: Extensive experience of handling general liability and construction claims of a complex nature; Experience with professional lines claims; Helps develop insurance programs for clients which include the creation of policy and procedures; Execute claim strategies for large accounts to manage claim exposures in conjunction with WTW safety and service teams; Review motion papers for clients; Provides insight on claim trends, triages incidents/losses at time of occurrence and manages client’s existing claim portfolio; Handles complaints, arbitrates disputes and negotiates alternative solutions; Provides coverage dispute resolution strategies and advocates coverage on behalf of clients with carriers; Provides insurance requirements contract review for internal/external clients; Coordinates vendor selection process with our clients via RFP; Provides Carrier/TPA management and oversight; Monitor the performance of trading partner’s services for clients; Ensure appropriate program design and documentation - service scope aligns; Support new business with sales presentations and RFP.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should must possess a law degree. Should have 10+ years claims experience in general liability and construction claims. College degree required, graduate/law degree a plus. Should have construction industry client experience. Ability to create the most complex and successful strategies for risk mitigation. Knowledge of claim handling & claim adjudication processes and procedures. Understand medical case management and cost containment programs. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures and processes involving insurance. Current on case law and appellate decisions to use in the adjudication of claims. Understand company products, services, global network, and industry practices. Understand the basic process and value of basic data analytics and benchmarking. Ability to communicate technical information orally and in writing . Ability to analyze and provide concise conclusions. Project management skills. Time management skills. Travel required, primarily within New York.
