ProfileCommercial Real Estate Underwriting Counsel The candidate will support strategic and operational initiatives for developing the National Commercial Channel. Will be exposed to all aspects of the business working directly with the Commercial Channel President and other leadership throughout the organization. Provide national commercial underwriting leadership, guidance and support to company personnel, agents, and customer(s), regarding the issuance of title insurance commitments and policies for commercial transactions. Issue commercial underwriting standards, forms and guidelines in accordance with established company procedures. Establish and maintain beneficial working relationships with underwriters throughout the organization and other national title insurance providers. Collaborate with commercial escrow teams to discuss and diplomatically resolve legal, transactional and title underwriting issues encountered on specific transactions. Research and document state-by-state title insurance and search requirements. Manage and develop internal and external customer relationships, identify prospective external customers, and attend marketing and industry functions to build and maintain a commercial customer base. Should have a J.D. degree and an active State Bar membership in good standing. Must have 5+ years of title commercial underwriting experience. Multi-state experience is preferred. Should have strong understanding of title insurance and settlement services, commercial real estate transactions, and Federal and State regulations affecting the title and settlement service industries.
