Senior Vice President, Counsel, Data Analytics The candidate will manage a skilled team responsible for ensuring privacy and data protection compliance while enabling business innovation in data analytics services and products for internal and external customers; Enable the development of data analytic products and solutions while ensuring compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, utilizing privacy by design methodology; Provide guidance for the development of data analytics products based on global standards for anonymization and pseudonymization; Develop a process for ensuring that new data sources and types are obtained with sufficient rights to support the business strategy; Create best in class data handling and protection techniques; including data obfuscation methods; Work with industry verticals to design solutions based on existing and new data sets that deliver unique value propositions to customers; Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop business/marketing tools and plans such as decision models, dashboards, testing designs, scorecards, and templates; Provide advice for business teams during the full data analytical lifecycle from concept to delivery, connecting metrics to the strategic intent of campaigns and underlying business objectives; Develop strategies to ensure compliance for new data sources/acquisitions, uses, development of algorithmic equations and research variables as well as ensure only appropriate information insights are shared with third parties and other vendors; Build upon existing data analytics processes and plans to implement long-term organizational data analytic compliance roadmap; Establish and implement technical and organizational policies, procedures, processes and controls to manage data analytics projects and products as needed; Engage with various business units throughout the organization to raise awareness regarding data, privacy and data protection concerns affecting new and evolving data analytic initiative; Enable the development of information based products and solutions while ensuring compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, utilizing privacy by design methodology; Understand and be able to clearly explain the complex data-driven business models and identify and apply applicable privacy and data protection laws; develop best in class solutions to enable data innovation; Negotiate complex data use contracts, agreements and arrangements with a wide range of business partners, including: issuing banks, merchants, cobrand partners, digital wallet operators, vendors and other service providers; Maintain compliance programs related to employee data, Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), and international data transfers; Enable the use of data and analytics for good, including supporting a data grant program; Ensure technology tools acquired and used by the organization are compliant with applicable privacy laws and corporate standards for how data is collected, used and shared; Work with corporate security teams to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws while conducting investigations and monitoring employees. Manage, motivate, inspire, train and build a strong team. Promote a strong and dynamic performance-oriented culture that is linked to compensation. Make decisions regarding, hiring, promotion, transfers and discharges of personnel. Delegate tasks to team and ensure employees have a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities. Ensure that training needs are identified and addressed. Conduct performance appraisals as required, and the formulation and implementation of corrective action. Promote, support and sustain an ethical working environment. Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos, Qlik) and platforms is essential. Bachelor's degree required – technical degree preferred. JD degree is required.
