Bilingual Staff Attorney (FVP) Duties: Providing legal assistance to refugees and immigrants seeking employment authorization, family reunification, adjustment of status, and citizenship, Providing legal assistance to individuals seeking asylum, deferred action and other immigration relief, Supporting senior attorneys on complicated legal matters, Supervising caseworkers in the provision of legal assistance to the clients, Coordinating referral internally across units or externally with other legal services providers, Performing client intake interviews and follow-up Conducting community outreach and education on issues affecting immigrants and refugees, Managing a robust caseload in a fast-paced environment, Providing regular reports on cases, issue trends and statistics for grant reporting purposes, and Providing technical assistance to pro bono attorneys.

Qualification and Experience

REQUIREMENTS: JD Degree from an accredited law school; Licensed to practice law in Texas and is in good standing, or be eligible to take the next available Texas Bar or be able to be admitted as an out-of-state attorney; Proficiency in English and Spanish (speak, write, read) is required; Immigration Law experience required; Experience working with low-income immigrant community preferred.
