ProfileAssociate General Counsel The candidate, under the direction of the Vice President/Chief Legal Officer (VP/CLO), will be responsible for providing legal services to the organization on a wide array of legal matters, including providing counsel and advice on all aspects related to healthcare provider operations. Should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the practice of law in Alaska or eligible for admission by reciprocity. Must have 5+ years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney in a healthcare environment, health law practice group or law firm. Should have knowledge of: General commercial law; Healthcare law, including fraud and abuse, Stark and Anti-Kickback laws and regulations, the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Medicare, Medicaid and other government program laws, regulations and policies; Federal and State statutes and regulations affecting healthcare provider operations; and laws applicable to Tribal Health Organizations, including the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act.
