ProfileSenior Manager/Associate Director, Government Affairs The candidate will develop and drive firm’s government affairs engagement strategy across all levels of government and governmental agencies in the State of California, Nevada, and DC. Will build and manage positive and long-lasting relationships with all areas of state and local government in California, Nevada, and DC. Manage license and administrative filings with states and local government agencies. Track relevant legislation for firm in the states, working closely with the Regulatory Affairs team as needed. Track state and local incentives that may impact the business model or rollout in each state. Pre-empt critical roadblocks for firm senior management that could delay the work. Provide daily support to firm’s senior management team on government affairs and related matters. Manage daily engagement with consultants providing government affairs support to firm in the states. Work directly with firm’s Marketing and Communications team to support all local firm press and events. Support all official visits from U.S. and foreign delegations to the facility.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have a JD degree, and membership in the California Bar are pluses. Must have 10+ years of experience working across all levels of government in California, and ideally particularly attuned to the political complexities of working across the State of California, Los Angeles County, and Silicon Valley. Experience with the automotive industry is a plus, with electric vehicle industry experience even better. Experience with California, Nevada, and DC utilities preferred. Working knowledge of government in Nevada and DC needed.
