Public Policy Counsel The candidate will directly enhance company’s advocacy on a broad range of public policy issues. Will create, execute, and manage key public policy issues. Working with the Director of Transportation Public Policy and the entire Transportation Public Policy team, the Policy Counsel will develop company’s positions on issues, communicate with consultants and trade associations, and represent the company at conferences and meetings. Will work collaboratively and transparently with business units to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals. Assess and communicate potential government activities back to the business and the public policy team, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, and manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives. Work collaboratively and transparently with the Transportation Public Policy team and within the Legal team to ensure alignment between core business priorities and public policy goals. Anticipate challenges/obstacles our business could face as the public policy landscape evolves. Ensure policymaker awareness of company’s business model. Effect change and drive policymaking that benefits our customers. Manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and initiatives in concert with business objectives. Manage appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and ensure appropriate deployment of outside consultants.

Qualification and Experience

A JD degree required. 3+ years of relevant experience is required. A keen working understanding of the legislative and regulatory policy process and the technology industry required. Strong skills in advocacy and using spoken and written rhetoric to persuade and inform. Previous work within companies, consultancies, trade associations, the government, or equivalent organizations required. Ability and desire to travel is required. Experience creating factual, relevant and easily understandable talking points and other messaging and ability to persuasively deliver it to relevant audiences preferred.
