Insurance Regulatory Attorney The candidate will provide general legal advice related to regulatory issues to business units across North America and will handle a variety of matters involving state insurance regulatory authorities including, responses to market conduct exams, audits and other inquiries and investigations. Will also manage outside counsel in connection with regulatory and related matters.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: JD from a nationally recognized law school and admission to the state Bar where the candidate will sit or eligibility for admission on motion. 5+ years relevant experience in a fast-paced dynamic culture; prior in-house experience a plus. 5-7 years of insurance regulatory experience in both the property and casualty and health and benefits fields. Client service, solution-oriented focus and the ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines and manage many projects in a fast-paced environment. Significant experience with insurance regulatory issues in both the property & casualty and health & benefits fields. Flexibility and experience to manage multiple, high-priority tasks while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical, project management and process management skills. Excellent analytic, legal drafting, and oral and written communication skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach. Should be able to work independently with little supervision, possess a client service focus and the ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines and manage many projects in a fast-paced environment.
