ProfileInnovation Director, Product Management Duties: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitive environment in the legal markets and in adjacent markets through ongoing research of competitors, frequent customer visits, attendance at industry events, and networking with internal / external stakeholders. Build a team of internal experts in the application of Lean Startup methodology to new investments; work with Legal Markets Group and other groups with Legal and Regulatory US as assigned to implement lean startup methodologies within the business. Partner with the Legal Markets Management Team, and other internal/external stakeholders to identify to identify both new product opportunities and potential enhancements to existing products and platforms. Maintain a backlog of opportunities. Work with the VP Legal Markets to prioritize the opportunity backlog; for each opportunity prioritized, manage lean projects to assess problem/solution fit and product/market fit with the goal of completing each within 30 and 90 days respectively. Manage the overall budget and corresponding allocation of budget to innovation projects. Evaluate the feasibility of third-party applications in product offerings; identify third-party providers and applications; coordinate third-party product development with internal product delivery. Provide direction to team in research of new business opportunities; development and presentation business cases and financial models for new product offerings. Resolve routine operating problems as they arise; prioritize, organize, distribute, and coordinate the flow of work; train, guide, and advise staff; ensure that prescribed policies, procedures, and schedules are followed. Manage employee performance by regularly monitoring performance; meeting with and coaching assigned staff on a regular basis, identifying performance issues and working with HR Business Partner to establish Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where necessary. Manage time and company resources appropriately. Proactively pursue professional development activities.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 12+ years of experience in the sales/ marketing of software or content products with product management in the legal, document management, business process outsourcing, or financial services industries. 2+ years of experience in the application of Lean Startup methodologies with a proven track record of delivery of new product using lean methodologies. 2+ years of management/cross-functional leadership. Preferred: MBA, Master’s degree, or JD degree. Software industry hosting experience, including: Working within a multi-division organization with various sales channels. Significant customer facing experience in support of product sales. Deep understanding of technologies and products currently provided to the regulatory compliance markets. Existing relationships with technology vendors, business partners, startups. Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan and complete work on tight deadlines and budgets; ability to work in an atmosphere of multiple projects and shifting priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with professional and technical staff, outside prospects, customers, salespersons, and third-party partners. Ability to organize, leads, and supervise others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong professional presentation skills and the ability to develop written proposals and client presentations. Excellent analytical skills. Action oriented; ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong organizational and analytical skills including a thorough understanding of financial concepts including costing, budgeting, and so on. Excellent written and verbal communication. Advanced interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work and lead cross-functionally and across multiple organizational layers; develop strong relationships with internal and external constituents.
