Vice President, Compliance Duties: Play a leadership role in addressing a variety of compliance matters across life insurance companies. Advising on compliance and regulatory issues related to life insurance business, including new and in-force business. Providing compliance support with respect to new regulations, agent sales practices, market conduct examinations and remediation’s the development of policies, procedures and controls supporting outsourcing model. Collaborating with senior management on strategic approaches to track and minimize regulatory risk including through maintaining metrics on escalations, accommodation requests and referrals. Providing compliance support to different Company departments, including sales & marketing, finance and operations, Leading projects for both strategic and tactical initiatives across business. Building and maintaining partnerships with internal stakeholders as well as contacts within the broader legal & compliance community.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree and 10+ years of experience in the field of law and/or compliance, including financial services/insurance, previous in-house Legal/Compliance experience preferred. Extensive experience in handling insurance matters and an excellent understanding of life insurance products. Ability to develop expertise and advise on and provide support with respect to a variety of matters. Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team. Advanced knowledge of regulatory and life products. Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently. Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions in a fast paced environment. Advanced negotiation and relationship building skills. Ability to work across enterprise and present complex matters to senior business leaders. Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability.
