ProfileCounsel III - Mortgage Servicing The candidate will provide legal advice on matters for management of firm's and its principal subsidiaries to assist them in planning and policy setting. Will analyzes and provides guidance and advice on laws, regulations, ordinances and contractual obligations of impact to consumer loan servicing operations; prepares/approves policies and procedures, standardized forms and communications to be used in support thereof. Represents loan servicing operations before regulatory agencies, governmental agencies, government sponsored enterprises, investors and third party vendors. May have incidental responsibility for providing guidance to less experienced counsel or paralegals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Should have Active State Bar membership. Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries is desired. Broad experience in a secured loan servicing function is desired. Experience with the OCC, CFPB and/or Attorneys General is desired. Specific loan service experience with Real Estate Tax, Insurance (Hazard and Flood), Escrow, Credit Reporting, Vendor management, Successor & Deceased Borrower issues is desired. Familiarity with TILA and RESPA, as amended by the Dodd-Frank Act is desired. Familiarity with mortgage loan Investor guidelines, particularly with GSEs is desired. Knowledge and experience with Westlaw is desired.
