ABLE & LAWO 2018-2020 Fellowship Applications Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (“ABLE”) and Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (“LAWO”) seek to sponsor 3L or recent law graduate candidates for Fellowships for 2018-2020. Candidates for Fellowships are encouraged to develop and bring forward proposals for work in an area of poverty law consistent with ABLE and LAWO’s Strategic Advocacy Initiatives in one of the following areas: • Healthcare and Public Benefits • Housing and Community Economic Development • Access to Meaningful and Appropriate Education • Independence and Self-Determination for Women and Children in Poverty • Agricultural Worker and Immigrant Rights • Meaningful Access to Justice • Prisoner Reentry • Medical-Legal Partnership Project proposals should reflect a focus on legal advocacy on behalf of disenfranchised individuals, groups or issues not adequately represented in our legal system. Applications should describe how the project proposes to meet unmet needs or underserved populations in a progressive and innovative manner. Candidates will be evaluated on a rolling basis. In order for applications to be appropriately reviewed, applicants are highly encouraged to submit proposals before September 06, 2017. The salary will be as provided by the Fellowship program. ABLE and LAWO offer a comprehensive benefit package.
