Staff Attorney & Site Supervisor Duties: Leads the office, providing direct legal services, supervising staff, and overseeing day-to-day operations, all with the supervision and support of the Director & Managing Attorney. A member of the Management Team and plays a key role in the monthly in-service immigration legal trainings. Provide direct legal representation for a caseload including representation of asylum-seekers; victims of trafficking seeking a T-visa; victims of crimes seeking a U-visa; victims of domestic violence seeking relief under VAWA; minors seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status; and those seeking other immigration benefits or forms of immigration relief. Represent in the community and conduct outreach and training on immigration issues and immigrant rights. Oversee management of all aspects of Office, with support from Director. Provide training, mentorship, and supervision to Stamford legal staff, volunteers, interns, and administrative support staff. Ensure the office’s compliance with program and grant policies, requirements, and outcomes. Work with Office Manager to ensure proper cash management in the office.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD Degree. or LL.M from accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing to practice law in any of the United States; 3+ years of immigration legal practice experience; Experience supervising and managing teams; experience supervising legal staff or interns preferred; Experience working with low-income immigrant populations and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other survivors of trauma; Strong public speaking skills and communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently Commitment to the agency’s core values and mission to assist immigrants and their families.
