ProfileLegal Services Attorney Duties: Representing survivors at all stages of family law cases, including: dissolution, custody, support, protective orders and property issues; representing low-income clients in a range of civil legal issues; including: housing, public benefits, health access and consumer protection; supervising and coordinating legal workshops and clinics; identifying systemic problems that affect our clients’ rights and addressing these challenges through affirmative advocacy and policy work; conducting community outreach and training; and collaborating with the local and national domestic violence organizations to address policy and impact issues affecting domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision. Cultural competency in working with low‐income clients from diverse backgrounds, including clients with physical and mental disabilities, LEP clients, and LGBT clients. Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills and is very detail-oriented. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic team. Curious and self-directed with an ability to anticipate what needs to be done. Fluency in Spanish preferred.
