ProfileStaff Attorney I Responsibilities: Interview and screen prospective clients for eligibility into firm’s Legal Program. Civil legal representation including case and factual research and appellate work if necessary. Maintain a caseload of civil legal cases, primarily family law and housing (statewide). Case-conference and coordinate with the firm Legal Program staff regarding case referrals. Assist the firm Legal Program with efforts to ensure successful representation of victims in the courts including advocacy and legal research. Provide technical assistance to advocates, attorneys and other professionals. Track case statistics for grant reporting requirements. And other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree and admission to the Alaska bar preferred. Prior experience with family law cases and/or housing cases. Experience in social justice, systems advocacy, and social change work is essential.
