ProfileSupervising Attorney (Unaccompanied Children Program) The candidate will supervise the Unaccompanied Children Program and to represent unaccompanied children in removal proceedings. Play a critical role in shaping the vision of the programs and in providing strategic leadership in program priority to advance and protect immigrant rights. Lead a legal team of attorneys and paralegals within the Unaccompanied Children Program. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day program operations, supervising attorneys and paralegals/caseworkers in the provision of legal services, planning and delivering training, and providing legal representation to unaccompanied minors in state court and immigration proceedings. Also coordinates and reviews collection of data and statistical information for internal and grant reports, represents the agency in the legal community and acts as a liaison between stakeholders to advocate for immigrant rights. License to practice law in the State of Texas, or eligible to waive in within one year on staff and 5+ years of practice experience as a licensed attorney, including 3+ years in immigration law required. Fluency: in Spanish (writing, speaking and reading); in Spanish (writing, speaking and reading) required. Demonstrated experience in client advocacy and litigation required. Excellent legal research and writing skills required.
