Supervising Attorney Duties: Oversee, support, participate in the Children’s Program in the Corpus Christi office. In addition, will work closely and supervise attorneys and legal assistants while also provide legal representation to unaccompanied children seeking immigration relief in local and immigration courts around the area. Manages the needs of the team’s representation work. Review cases with staff attorneys, senior staff attorneys to provide support on practice questions. Works closely with the Program Director to ensure training is given to new and veteran staff in relevant practice areas. Works Closely with the Program Director to ensure grant requirements are being met. Conduct thorough intakes to ascertain immigration relief. Provides representation to individuals in immigration removal proceedings as well as before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, San Antonio Immigration Court, Houston Immigration Court or Texas state courts related to a client’s immigration case. Assumes general administrative responsibilities, including detailed case management, supervision of a legal assistant, timekeeping, grant compliance, and other tasks related to project compliance. Handle a caseload providing direct representation to individuals eligible for immigration relief; and Other duties, activities and responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school; Fluent in Spanish. Experience in immigration and family law. Admission to Texas state Bar.
