ProfileMinneapolis office of our client seeks employment law staff attorney with 2+ years of experience. The candidate will assist in preparing position statements, responding to requests for information from departmental agencies, interviews and other matters related to employment-related administrative agency proceedings (including responding to and handling EEOC, state, and local charges and similar DOL and OSHA investigations and proceedings). Will also assist with state and federal litigation matters, including preparing, drafting and responding to pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, reviewing and preparing documents for production, working directly with clients in discovery related phases of litigated matters, drafting briefs for discovery motion practice and/or summary judgment, and assist with trial preparation. Should have active Minnesota attorney license. Must have experience of defending claims at administrative and litigated levels with an in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, FLSA, USERRA, MHRA and other state laws. Experience and familiarity with claims before the Department of Labor-OSHA and specifically under the Federal Rail Safety Act ("FRSA") is a plus. Experience with client counseling on employment related matters also preferred.
