ProfileLegal Counsel The candidate will support various departments throughout the Company, most frequently Human Resources, Payroll, Compensation and Benefits, Store Operations, Store Management, and Asset Protection. Provide legal support for both domestic and global labor matters, but will also be expected to work on a variety of non-labor matters, as needed. Provide ongoing legal support and counsel in the areas of human resources, store operations, health and safety, asset protection, and others to ensure compliance with local law. Support the Human Resources team in managing the relationships with works councils, trade unions, and other labor organizations or elected associate representatives, including participation in negotiations, support for elections and monthly meetings, and preparation of required documents and reports. Advise the Human Resources team in managing the relationships with labor inspectors, including preparing the team for labor inspector visits and meetings and drafting communication to labor inspectors. Conduct legal research on current and new laws related to the subject matters described above and advise and train the relevant teams on the same, as necessary. Management of litigation and administrative matters. Draft responses to demand letters. Investigate and respond to administrative charges. Provide training to various departments throughout the Company. Partner with various departments to create, maintain and update Company policies. Management of various legal and compliance projects. Conduct internal investigations and guide Human Resources in the same. Support Human Resources and Health & Safety in managing various workplace safety matters. Draft and update vendor and employment contracts. Handle the above for the United States and countries in Asia. Must be admitted to the bar and certified to practice law in Ohio. Should have 1-2 years of labor law experience, preferably in a law firm environment. Immigration experience is a plus.
