ProfileAssociate/Staff Counsel The candidate will be responsible for serving as the lead attorney on a wide range of legal issues and will be integral to the success of strategic plan. Review, draft and negotiate commercial business transactions and support established government contracts administration and procurement staff. Advise on other legal matters including employment, regulatory compliance, cyber-security and intellectual property. Collaborate effectively within the company by providing timely, correct and consistent legal support to operations. Review regulatory developments and implement necessary compliance measures. Facilitate corporate transactions such as financing, acquisitions and business development. Assist with implementation of intellectual property strategy.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited law school and a current member in good standing of at least one state Bar with eligibility for admission to New York. Strong business acumen is highly valued; MBA or business degree beneficial. 2 years of relevant legal experience. In-house counsel experience or relevant private law firm practice strongly preferred. Experience in one or more of the following practice areas: commercial contracts, government contracts and regulations, corporate transactions, employment law, commercial leasing, or in-house legal practice. A strong background in corporate and/or commercial law. . Outstanding organizational, analytical and drafting skills, with consistent attention to detail. Effective at multi-tasking efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable and confident in dealing directly with all levels of management. Excellent writing, listening and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and project leadership in a group setting.
